Route Guidelines
Last updated
(1) DO search before submitting. Popular routes are probably already in our collection.
(2) DON'T submit routes with overlaps. We will only accept A→B or single-lap loop routes.
(3) DON'T submit routes with sensitive locations. We won't approve routes starting at your neighborhood or driveway.
(4) DON'T submit routes longer than ~200km unless checking with us first. These huge routes are usually a waste of time and resources.
(5) DO use the Route Editor to clean your route before submitting:
- Zoom in until you see the individual route points.
- Ensure points are aligned with the road. Drag to move the points if needed.
- Ensure there's no overly sharp turns. If so, click on the route path to add new intermediate points to "smooth" the turn.
- Ensure a smoothness score above 90%.
- Ensure an alignment score above 90%.
- Ensure all errors and warnings have been addressed.
(6) DO give your route a good title. Titles should be informative without being too verbose. Assume other riders know nothing about your route!
- ❌ My route
- ❌ 20251214-garmin-export
- ✅ Harrington Sound Loop, Bermuda
- ✅ Col de Fouchy
- ✅ 2015 UCI Road World Championships Richmond
