About Us

Matt

I'm a Virginia-based developer and cyclist. I started Biketerra to "scratch my own itch". I wanted a way to ride my local routes indoors, pulling in real-world terrain data, and with a focus on accurate physics.

Anslo

I'm a creative generalist with a particular interest in procedural environment generation and web-based 3D. While I do enjoy mountain biking around the hills of Edinburgh, I'm just as happy developing new techniques to recreate them in the browser.

Biketerra very much stands on the shoulders of giants. We couldn't have built this without the open source JS ecosystem, including Node.js, Sveltekit, Leaflet, OpenStreetMap, Three.js, Socket.io, Tauri and others.

RGT was a big early inspiration for us, with its realistic physics and Magic Roads feature. Zwift did a great job bringing indoor cycling into mainstream focus 🙌
