Clubs & Teams
Clubs
Clubs are the social hub of Biketerra. A club is a group of riders who want to ride together, track each other's progress, and compete on weekly leaderboards. Clubs can be PUBLIC, meaning anyone can join with a single click, or PRIVATE, requiring an invitation. Each club has its own activity feed and a leaderboard that ranks members by distance, longest ride, average speed, and elevation gain. Creating a club requires a premium membership.
Club Roles
Every club has three roles. The Owner is the person who created the club and has full control – they can edit club settings, promote members to admin, remove members, and create teams. Admins can promote members, remove members, and create teams. Members can view club content, participate in activities, and leave at any time.
Teams
Teams exist within clubs and are designed for organized competition, particularly Team Time Trials. A club owner or admin creates a team and assigns a team leader. The Team Leader can then add members from the club roster. Each rider can only belong to one team at a time. The leader manages the team's membership, can transfer leadership to another member, and can add or remove riders. Regular team members can leave whenever they choose.
Team Time Trials (TTTs)
A Team Time Trial is an event type where teams race together in a coordinated start. When a TTT event is scheduled, team members sign up and join the event page. Once the event's start window opens, the team leader can initiate a 60-second countdown for their team. The team needs between 3 and 6 riders online to start. If the team size drops outside that range during the countdown, it automatically aborts. When the countdown reaches zero, all team members begin the race simultaneously. Riders who aren't on a team appear as unaffiliated and cannot participate in the team countdown.
Joining a Club or Team
To join a public club, visit the Clubs page, find a club you like, and hit "Join club." Private clubs require an invite from an existing member or admin. Teams work differently – you can't join a team directly. Instead, a team leader adds you from the club's member list. If you'd like to be on a team, reach out to a team leader or club admin and ask to be added.
