A compact tour of the two landscapes that define Nijmegen. The first six kilometres tilt upward onto the wooded moraine ridge east of the city, topping out around 93 metres — never steeper than about 5%, but enough to earn the view. From there the route tips off the ridge and drops down to river level.

The back half is pure Dutch flatland: eleven kilometres of level riding across the Ooij polder and along the Oude Waal nature preserve, where the old river channel, open water and grazing land make for wide, unhurried kilometres. A short climb in the final 700 metres lifts you back into town to finish where you started.
