The Willunga Hill King of the Mountain (KoM) is the most iconic climb in the history of the Santos Tour Down Under and has become synonymous with the race's battle for overall victory. In Stage 5 of the 2027 edition, riders will tackle the famous Category 1 ascent twice, with the second and final climb culminating at the summit finish on Brookman Road. The climb measures 3.0 kilometres, gains 224 metres in elevation, and averages 7.4%, with gradients reaching a maximum of 11%, making it the perfect terrain for elite climbers and general classification contenders to make decisive moves. Widely regarded as the Tour Down Under's signature climb, Willunga Hill has repeatedly determined the race winner and is expected to once again be the defining battleground of the 2027 event.
